problem with floss

hi i have some crossstitch floss from china i want to use but carnt cause there is no codes on it what can i do

    First, make sure it is colorfast! Spending hours on a project just to have it ruined by the colors running is the WORST! I do a lot of projects where I change the colors to suit the person (or their decor) that I'm doing it for. In most cases, if you're working from a pattern (not a kit), you can change the colors to whatever you want! If you do that, you can use the floss without codes. Just to keep things straight, I would put the floss on cards and number it myself, then make notes on the pattern to show which one(s) that I used. Hope this helps! Go to top
