Finishing edge of Bookmark

Hi, just wondering how the edge was done on the Candy Hearts Bookmark. I'm working on a bookmark and would love to finish it like this one was done. Thanks!

Amanda,
That bookmark was stitched on Ribband. It is a narrow strip of fabric with a decorative edge on the left and right sides. To keep the bookmark from unraveling, I simply make a single row of full stitches about 8 rows from the top and bottom of the bookmark using a floss color that matches the fabric. These stitches will stop the fabric from unraveling when you fray the ends.

Oh wow, I wasn't even aware of Ribband. It looks great with those candy hearts. I will have to get some when I do that design. Thank you for the reply! I love your designs :)
