I’m wondering if anyone has an American Thread Company embroidery floss color conversion chart to any of the popular brands used today (DMC, JP Coats, Anchor, etc.). Even a homemade chart would be fine. I’m colorblind so I can’t just simply match up the colors I have. If you don’t have a chart, but know some ATC color matches to the popular brands, I’d appreciate those, too. I’m working on gathering what people tell me into a chart to share with others as many people have asked about this on various blogs and websites. Thanks in advance!

      I'm making a chart with the help of another woman on an embroidery page that I follow. I'm hoping more people will contribute by simply comparing any American Thread Company embroidery floss they acquire with DMC, JP Coats, or Anchor since those are the major brands that people use today. So far, we only have 17 matching with DMC floss, but a total of 40 American Thread colors on the list.
      So any amount of help you can offer is very much appreciated...even just one color match up would be awesome!

    Maybe contact companies directly, like DMC, The Flower Thread and Anchor Company. Also try Cosmo Floss... they are an old company as well. They may have a solution. I also don't buy kits with a glob of thread because I can't distinguish some colors as the value is very close. I hope that helps. Go to top

      I am also looking for American thread conversion charts I have got a lot of American thread that I acquired from my grandmother and no colors to go with it to match with DMC or the others anything would be great help.
