Trouble understand symbols

I am finishing this cross stitch of six birds, starting the outline stitches. There are several blocks with symbols I am not sure I understand.

    Without seeing the pattern, it's really difficult to say. Can you at least describe the symbols or if it is a free pattern, post the link?

    Some of those symbols look like half stitches, where you use one color on one half the stitch and another color on the other half. Go to top
