I recently found a copy of Cross Stitcher August 2001 & fell in love with the Warbler and Bunting and the Oriole and Chickadee graphs by Barbara Sestok. On the Warbler and Bunting graph I noticed several things I was confused about. There appears to be a ladybug on the leaf above the bunting’s head but no mention of this in the backstitch instructions. Then the blended needle instructions say the I and black triangle were both one strand of 742 and 977. Then on the Warbler the I and triangle are side by side so why the need for both symbols? Also the graph shows the black eyed Susan’s outlined but there’s no mention of thread color for them in the backstitch instructions. Also the French knot instructions say centers of the pink flowers but there’s no indication on the graph of French knots in the pink flowers.

This all being said, I love both graphs and am an experienced stitcher of over 50 years so I am able to work out all this but just thought I would share in case other less experienced stitchers found these beautiful patterns & decided to give them a try.

Thanks so much for the beautiful patterns! Have a blessed day!

    Judi,
Thanks for the heads up. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any contact information regarding Barbara Sestok. I've stitched 7 of her patterns without any issues.
