Stitched Backs Gallery

These images are from backs of projects in My Gallery. Getting the back of your stitching to look as neat as the front can be a real challenge. Here's a few tips that may help.

Tips For Stitching Neat Backs
  • Try not to carry threads across the unstitched areas of the design.
  • Finish your floss neatly by taking the needle to the back of the fabric and through the last four stitches worked.
  • After securing the thread, trim any loose threads close to the fabric.
  • Give yourself time since it does take practice.
The books Jo Verso's Complete Cross Stitch Course and Donna Kooler's Cross Stitch for the First Time are excellent references since they offer a variety of tips for all stitchers.
